I focused only on the flame and I used flash. The exposure was set by the camera and it technically "underexposed" it. The background was not altered in PS Elements. The photo was processed for color correction, balance/levels, and edge sharpness +1 before applying the word HOPE, watermark and border.

Probably more that you asked for but meh... I got carried away with the details... :)

This image is about Hope and it applies to my niece Erika and her fight for her life. She has AML - leukemia. She is 21 years old. The caption I wrote to go with the image was pretty self-explanatory.

As to my religious beliefs... Read my journal or get to know me and you will not have to ask that very personal question.
