"Pikachu"
Casey a.k.a. Pikachu (Peek-at-You) for the way she peeks around corners.

This little one was a feral kitten that we were caring for. She was too old to catch and place in a home (older than 8-10 wks) and had very little human contact before showing up on our doorstep for food. She had followed some of the older cats one morning. We haven't seen her mother since November.

One morning she was on the porch but didn't run when I came out. I didn't think too much about it at first because after awhile they get used to us and figure we're ok, we aren't going to hurt them, but they still keep their distance. She was right by the door, on the mat, and other than hissing, wouldn't move even when I went to pet her. Ends up she was hurt -- very badly.

Luckily I work for a company that makes pet products and carriers so having a carrier around is a given. We successfully caught her without hurting her further and secured her in the carrier. The vet said it must have been either a large tomcat, dog, or etc, that went after her but what ever it was had every intention of killing her. Her hip was broken and she had bite puncture wounds everywhere. It took weeks but we got her back on her feet. By then it would have been inhumane to put her back out in the "wild" after she had gotten used to being an indoor cat. Both of our cats got along with her well and Haley was doting on her like a Momma. We fell in love with those huge eyes so she joined our wonderful family.
